Calcium Fluoride (CaF2)

Calcium Fluoride (Caf2) is a highly transparent optical material that is commonly used in applications such as spectroscopy, thermal imaging, and excimer laser optics.

It has a broad transmission range from the ultraviolet to the mid-infrared region and is highly resistant to thermal and mechanical shock. It has a low refractive index and dispersion and used as a window material in vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. There are 3 stock grades, IR grade, UV/IR grade and Raman Grade. These can all be used for the manufacturing of windows, lenses, prisms, optical components microscope slides and coverslips.
