UQG Optics Statement of Compliance with RoHS Directive(2015/863/EU)

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive is designed to reduce the impacts of hazardous substances on human health and the environment.
UQG Optics further warrants that it safeguards the health of its operators involved in the manufacture of its optical components under current RoHS (Restriction of Harmful Substances) legislation. UQG Optics complies with the criteria as set out by the European Union ROHS2 Directive (2011/65/EC).
Restricted substances for which sale and use within the EU are regulated by the RoHS Directive include:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Hexavalent chromium
- Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
- Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)
UQG Optics hereby affirms its compliance with the RoHS Directive and undertakes that none of the optical products and components that it manufactures contain any significant levels of substances restricted by the Directive.

Where UQG Optics sources optical coatings, components or other materials from subcontractors which may contain restricted substances, we undertake to advise customers at time of order.
Furthermore, we review our products to ensure they continue to meet RoHS requirements as regularly as possible.
Where optical components incorporate restricted substances for reasons of functional performance e.g. refractive index, dispersion or UV transmittance, exemptions may be granted by an appropriate regulatory body.
In all cases, UQG Optics endeavours to ensure that its website and product datasheets are kept current and updated.

UQG Optics applies the procedures for the management of risk relating to hazardous substances according to the recommended safety guidelines stated by its materials suppliers.
