Neutral Density Filters

Optical Neutral Density Filters (also called ND filters) are optical filters that are typically used to attenuate the intensity of light across a broad range of wavelengths.

Optical Neutral Density Filters are widely used in imaging and laser applications to reduce light levels, for example in photographic equipment and laser technology, where excessive light which may damage or disrupt readings in sensors and other optical components must be attenuated.

UQG Optics supplies both reflective neutral density filters and absorbing neutral density filters. With our reflective neutral density filters, AR coatings can be applied to a range of glass substrate materials including Borosilicate Crown glass (N-BK7), UV Fused Silica and Zinc Selenide (ZnSe).

Absorbing neutral density filters are also available on glass substrate to absorb light by a specific percentage for visible, ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) requirements.
