At UQG Optics, we are proud to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone, 50 years of dedicated service by Ray Harris. Ray has been an integral part of the UQG team, working alongside three generations of leadership and contributing immeasurable expertise and commitment to the business. His professional spirit, knowledge and steadfast work ethic have been the backbone of our manufacturing operations for decades.
Ray’s journey with us is more than a career; it’s a legacy. Over the years, he has become a mentor, colleague and friend to so many within the company.
From Manufacturing to Quality Management
While Ray has not entirely hung up his micrometer, he is stepping into a new role as Quality Manager, working three days a week as part of our growing inspection team. This transition ensures that Ray’s wealth of knowledge remains at the heart of UQG, while also allowing him to take a well-deserved step back from his manufacturing responsibilities.
Ray’s long-time colleague, Liam Neligan, will now step into the manufacturing role that Ray has so expertly led. Having worked alongside Ray for over 25 years, Liam brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the craftsmanship and precision required to uphold our high standards.
A Time of Growth and Change
Ray’s milestone comes at an exciting time for UQG Optics. With the recent completion of our new building and significant investment in additional machinery, we are entering a new era of growth and innovation. These developments ensure that we continue to provide world-class optical components to our customers while maintaining the quality and precision that Ray has championed throughout his career.
Over the coming months, we will also be sharing more about our evolving team structure as we continue to invest in both our people and our facilities.
A Well-Deserved Celebration
We are incredibly grateful for Ray’s 50 years of dedication and his continued presence as part of our team. His influence can be seen not only in the quality of the components we produce, but also in the culture of teamwork, precision and excellence that defines UQG Optics today.
Please join us in celebrating Ray Harris’ extraordinary achievement—50 years of service, expertise, and professionalism.
